Prominent composer, conductor, and one of the founders of the Georgian National Classical School of Composition Zaqaria Paliashvili (1871-1933) was born in Kutaisi, where he lived until he was 16 years old. Zaqaria Paliashvili created a Georgian classical style of music by mixing Georgian folk music and world classical music.
