The presentation of “Imereti Adventure Tourism Development Strategy” took place today.

The strategy, which envisages the organization of eco-friendly adventure camps in all twelve municipalities of Imereti, was developed by “Imereti Tourism Club” at the initiative of DMO Imereti.

The importance and development of the project at the stages of the implementation of the project, the principles and importance of the selection of camping zones were discussed by: Executive Director of DMO Imereti – Mari Devidze, State Representative in Imereti Region – Zviad Shalamberidze, Head of Imereti Tourism Club – Aleksandre Paikidze, Doctor of Tourism – Otar Jafaridze, certified geotourism expert, doctor of Geography – Giorgi Dvalashvili, Head of Camerton-Travel Company – Davit Kobuladze.

According to the strategy, the camps located in the locations selected by specific criteria in twelve municipalities will have a common look, design and management style. They are distinguished by attractions specific to a particular region.

The camps will be connected to each other by foot, car, in some cases by bicycle-riding and footpaths. Boat transport will be used at the appropriate places. Various adventure festivals and events will be organized.

The strategy will advance the adventure potential of Imereti and will contribute to the sustainable development of tourism in the region.
