You will get interesting information about the past of the region and the city at the Kutaisi State Historical Museum. Artifacts from the Bronze Age and the Ancient Period found in the territory of Western Georgia are preserved here. You will see unique examples of the country’s cultural heritage dating back from the IX-VII centuries including the late Middle Ages. After the Soviet occupation and the closing of the churches and monasteries, the icons and relics of the churches of Imereti and nearby areas were preserved in this museum. You can look at the samples of ancient partition enamels, their decoration, and embossing.
