Colchis Lowland – this historical place, beautifully illuminated by the rays of the setting sun, unfolds in front of you in the form of a beautiful panoramic view from the curved hill of Imereti. There is a nunnery named after St. Nino and a small church built of white stone hidden in the greenery. The monastery was founded in 1893, on the ruins of the church built in the 16th century. During the communist era, the service was temporarily suspended. For relaxation and familiarization with monastic life, you can visit the nuns of the monastery at any time. Nuns are engaged in organic agriculture and they keep livestock. Traditional handicrafts, icon painting and others are taught.
Note that in the yard you may meet a large Georgian shepherd who lives in the monastery, but is not aggressive towards people.
