Today, the final evening of the Imeretian wine Challenge 2024 took place – awarding of winning wineries and wines.

We remind you that the competition was organized for the second time by DMO Imereti and the Imeri Wine Association, and 100 Imeri wines were presented by 38 wine producers participating in it.

The competitive samples were tasted by a competent jury, which included Georgian and foreign wine experts. At the competition, it was possible to present wine from any region of Georgia produced from 100% Imeri grape variety and/or varieties using any technology or mixed with up to 15% of other grape varieties allowed by law. In this regard, a significant statistical increase compared to last year’s competition was observed, the number of samples increased by 20% and they were provided not only from Imereti, but also from Kakheti, Samegrelo, Kartli and Racha.

According to the evaluation of the international standard, the awards were distributed as follows, 1 – Grand gold, 16 – gold, 29 – silver, and 2 special prizes for the best red and white wines.
